Special thanks to 47 Scott for partnering with me for this post!
Last weekend, I took my boyfriend out to dinner at 47 Scott. We weren’t celebrating anything special; date nights are just important in any relationship. We were seated in the courtyard and enjoyed the perfect meal. I have so many good things to say about this place, I could honestly go on all day. The place as a whole has a cute, quaint feeling to it. The lights are a bit dim, it’s small, and it’s perfect for just about any occasion. Date night, graduation dinner, or even just a happy hour with creative cocktails? 47 Scott has you covered.
I take a lot of pride in finding some of the best places to eat in Tucson. After all, it’s UNESCO’s only city of Gastronomy. After a few years of going to the same places, I had to find those places that really stood out among the crowd. 47 Scott is one of those places. I’m actually a bit upset at myself that I didn’t try this place sooner.
By the end of the meal, we were so full, we thought we would need to be rolled out of the restaurant. But trust me, with food this good, it’ll totally be worth it.
First Course: Grilled Cheese
Had this not been suggested by my server, I probably would not have tried it. Although I’m a total cheese fiend, I kinda figured all grilled cheeses were created equal. This grilled cheese proved me wrong.
This grilled cheese is made with 3 different cheeses (it’s a house blend so it’s secret), and grilled on sourdough bread. It’s served with a sweet & spicy dipping sauce that compliments it perfectly. It was definitely an unexpected but delicious combination. We added bacon into our grilled cheese and I would recommend that addition.

Second Course: Heirloom Tomato Panzanella
We followed up the grilled cheese with the only way I want to eat vegetables from now on. Although I’ve never had panzanella before, I would get this again. It’s roasted red peppers, basil, local greens, olive oil, and a balsamic reduction served on their house ricotta on toast. It was a bit reminiscent of bruchetta, but so much better that I definitely cannot include them in the same category.

Third Course: Crab Mac & Cheese
Now, this is a comfort food if I’ve ever tasted one. It’s house cheese sauce, sourdough breadcrumbs, and a herb blend with their roasted crab. This one was off-menu when we went, but it was delicious. There are other addition options like mushrooms, bacon, or vegetables.

Fourth Course: Phyllo Wrapped Chicken
This is 47 Scott’s most popular dish and it’s not hard to see why. It’s a unique dish and absolutely delicious. The sauce on top was my favorite part and I loved mopping up the rest of the sauce with the yukon potatoes served on the side.

Dessert: Apple Tart
If you love apples, but maybe aren’t the biggest desert person, you’ll love this. If you’re a desert person, you’ll love this. Basically, what I’m saying is, you’ll love this. It’s a miz of two apples in a delicious cinnamon tasting glaze with a pumpkin creme fraiche on top. Paired with the old fashioned, it was the perfect combination.

Cocktails: Vagabond & Brickhouse Old Fashioned
47 Scott was originally a 24-seat bar, known for it’s craft cocktails so you know that this place has got to have good drinks. The Vagabond is 47 Scott’s take on a margarita while their Brickhouse Old Fashioned is their take on an old fashioned (of course). I loved both, but the Old Fashioned made the perfect desert pairing. My personal favorite was the Vagabond, but who doesn’t love a little tequila and lime (and sage-infused agave nectar and orange bitters)?
