If you were watching my IG story this weekend, you might have noticed that I didn’t exactly stay in Tucson for the weekend. Instead, I headed out to Willcox (aka the Napa of Arizona, jk no one really calls it that) for the Willcox Wine Festival.
Tanner and I heard of the wine festival from a local wine tasting room in Tucson, Sierra Bonita. If you’re in the Tucson area, I highly recommend wine tasting there – you can get a 2 people for $12 deal on Groupon right now!
When we heard of the festival, we knew it was a thing we had to attend. I meant to take some extra photos to put together a guide for you, but unforunately the wine got the best of me and the photos escaped my mind! So instead, I put together a quick guide on what to wear to a wine festival with my wine festival outfit of the weekend.
Wear Dark Colors
I didn’t end up spilling this weekend, but just in case, dark colors aren’t a bad idea. I opted for a black top and a neutral looking skort (both machine-washable) in preparation for any mishaps that might’ve happened.
Wear Comfy Walking (or Standing) Shoes
We ended up doing a lot of standing around and waiting at this festival. With all the lines, I would be prepared for something similar. There wasn’t a whole lot of seating, so when you were just sipping the wine, you ended up walking around or standing some more. I wore some comfy booties that can literally go anywhere and my boyfriend wore Birkenstocks, and both of our feet were sore when we finally sat down.
Wear something you can sit down in
I was so glad I opted for a skort instead of a dress for this event. A skort, or even long skirt, would make for the perfect wine festival outfit. When Tanner and I got really tired, we sat criss-cross-applesauce on the grass and I was glad I didn’t have to worry about a short hemline.
I would say this outfit probably would work for a variety of similar events that might involve sitting down on the grass and a lot of standing around. But I’m just going to go for it and say it’s a wine festival outfit. Works for me.

That skirt, is gorgeous and I love how you styled it!
Thank you Mallory! It’s actually a skort, which made it so perfect for sitting in the grass and sipping on my wine!
