Man, it’s hard to be a blogger in one of the hottest climates in the world during the fall season. Although I love that we have very mild winters, I do miss being able to break out my cute fall clothes. So, when it comes to fall outfits, I’ve gotten very good at wearing as much as possible without overheating.
In Tucson, during the fall and winter, we get a few weeks in the mid-50s each year and unexpected rain for weeks at a time. I didn’t bring a jacket to college in my freshman year and, boy, was that a mistake. This Nylon Anorak from Abercrombie honestly would have been a game-changer during those few cold weeks that hit in November.
About the Jacket:
I’m generally not a fan of weather-proof jackets but immediately fell in love with this one! The dark red color is my favorite color for fall and the weight is perfect for mild Arizona winters. It also has a soft lining inside, so it feels like I’m wearing my favorite tee shirt instead of a rain jacket. There is a hood on the jacket, but it zips into the collar, so I can take it out when there’s a bit of rain.
Generally, I wear a size medium but I bought a small in this jacket. It definitely fits on the roomier side, since I still have extra room in mine. If you prefer an oversized fit, your usual size would work as well. I tend not to layer my jackets over thick sweaters, so I like my fit a bit slimmer. If you tend to wear your jackets over chunky sweaters, your usual size would mostly likely work best.
About the Look:
Since it hasn’t cooled down in Arizona quite yet, I opted for a “monsoon-season ready” look. My usual outfit is a light shirt with jeans so I picked this lace cami and high rise straight jeans for this outfit. The cami is the perfect layering piece and comes in several neutral and bright colors and these straight jeans will transition perfectly into fall. With their distressed details, side stripe, and boyish fit, they’re super on trend at the moment too.
I’m excited to bring this jacket (as well as a few other fall pieces from Abercrombie) on my upcoming trip to Reno so you can get a few more ideas on how to style this jacket. Even though this look is pretty casual, I’m excited to style this jacket with a few more upscale pieces for a more sophisticated casual look. (Is there a term for that kind of look?)
Any guess at what I’m styling next? How would you style this jacket?
