Surprising Beauty Uses for Coconut Oil

Disclaimer: These products were gifted to me for testing by Kopari. All opinions expressed are my own.

Ever since I saw Kopari on a billboard in California, I was immediately intrigued. Of course, the products were shown on a background of the beach, so of course I was interested. Now, I’ve used coconut oil in my hair in the past, but began doing my own research into how the products could be used.

There is no doubt that coconut oil can do wonders for the body. People use it for everything. So today, I’m sharing some of the amazing uses I’ve found for coconut oil and show you all the ways you can incorporate it into your beauty routine.

Organic Coconut Melt

The first product I tried was their number 1 bestseller: the organic coconut melt. This item is pure coconut oil and probably has the most uses of all of their products.

Hair Mask: I live in Arizona, so my hair gets really dry sometimes. Every once in a while, ya girl needs a deep conditioning hair mask. So, at the end of the day (I shower in the morning), when I have dry and unwashed hair, I use this melt in my hair from root to tip. While it’s sitting in my hair, I toss it up in a quick bun and keep it there anywhere from 30 minutes to a few hours – depending on the night. Afterward, hop in the shower & shampoo and rinse twice and my hair is softer and silkier than ever.

Body Moisturizer: When I shower at night, I use this stuff right after I get out instead of a lotion. Since this stuff can get pretty greasy, I prefer to only use this at night. Although it won’t stain clothes, it might create little greasy marks and leave your skin feeling a bit greasy for a while. However, if you use it at night, it leaves your skin feeling so soft in the morning.

Makeup Remover: Did you know coconut oil can also work as a makeup remover? Neither did I! If you don’t want to use chemicals or prefer organic facial care, this is the perfect way to remove your makeup at the end of the day. Just swab a little Coconut Melt onto a cotton ball or tissue and gently wipe the day away as you would with a normal makeup remover. Since coconut oil is already good for your skin, it will leave your skin moisturized and nourished afterward too. Bonus, it will help get rid of the appearance of dark bags under your eyes too!

Bath Bomb: Ok, maybe not quite a bath bomb, but just as relaxing. After a long day, drop a scoop of the melt into a hot bath. This bath will leave your skin feeling nourished from the melt in the water. Just be careful – it might be slippery in the tub after use!

Coconut Crush Scrub

So there aren’t as many uses for this scrub as the melt, but I loved this product just as much. I seriously love a good sugar scrub. This one is your pretty standard scrub, but I’d still recommend. The coconut oil mixed with the other ingredients leaves your skin feeling so soft after exfoliating.

Coconut Rose Toner

I’ll be honest – I’ve never used a toner before, but I love this one. It smells so nice too. So I pretty much used this as instructed on the bottle: I sprayed it on my clean face (after a face wash) and followed it up with a face moisturizer. Since I don’t usually wear a lot of makeup, I can’t speak to how makeup layers over this, but it did leave my face feeling very refreshed.

Coconut Sheer Oil

This oil was perfect for when the melt was just a little too much. I prefered to use this as more of a face product, rather than a body product. This product remains a liquid while the melt remains a solid. It’s a little lighter than the melt, which is why I preferred using it on my face.

So moving into more uses for the miracle oil…

Facial Oil: This oil makes the perfect face moisturizer as I mentioned, but a little goes a long way. Apply a few drops into palm (literally, just a few) and apply it to the face. It won’t leave an oily residue like the melt might. Since it’s made with so few products that are all natural, it’s also great for all kinds of skin types. I have sensitive combination skin and my skin responded so well to this product. Bonus, it can act as a makeup primer as well!

Hair Oil: As I just said, a little goes a really long way. The first time I used this, I used way too much and it made my hair a bit greasy. I would only use a few drops on the ends (stay away from the roots!) to keep the fly aways at bay.
