Ah brunch culture. Is there anything better than a socially acceptable way to drink champagne before noon? If you didn’t know, Tucson has a huge brunch culture and we take it very seriously. So, if you’re in the area and want to check out my favorite spots, just keep reading.
The Coronet
Best for: A slow, romantic patio setting
This is Tanner’s and my favorite brunch spot in Tucson. We’ve never had to wait to get in for brunch and they really captured our hearts with our go-to meals.
My Pick: Eggs Florentine with Ham
If you like Eggs Benedict, this if my favorite benedict in Tucson. Theirs is an Eggs Florentine, so it has spinach, and I always request to add the ham. It’s served with a basil and cherry tomato salad with a balsamic vinegar dressing, which is the perfect pairing. Tanner always likes to finish off my tomatoes if I don’t finish them.
Tanner’s Pick: Belgian waffle with “The Works”
Tanner loves sweet things for breakfast, so he’s a big fan of their Belgian waffle. He orders it with “The Works” which means that they cook bacon bits into the batter and serve it with fresh fruit and whipped cream.
Cup Cafe
Best for: Iconic Tucson brunch culture
This places is one of the most popular places to go in Tucson. If you show up after 9 AM on a weekend, expect a wait. If there’s too long of a wait, don’t worry, you can just head over to the Coronet for an equally delicious brunch.
My Pick: The Deposition or The Trout Benedict, don’t forget the mocha Azteca!
I always get their Azteca mocha since I love mochas and this one has extra cinnamon and a bit of a kick! It’s a great way to start my morning. I just recently tried their trout benedict and it was amazing, but I probably wouldn’t recommend it if you’re not a fan of fish. This benedict is super unique and has a delicious combination of different foods! If you’re more of a sweet tooth, I love their Deposition! This is two pancakes served with eggs and I love the combination of salty and sweet. I personally love getting my pancakes with bananas and their rum syrup.
Prep and Pastry
Best for: Girls’ Instagrammable Brunch
This place is another Tucson classic. If you like pretty brunches and instagrammable brunches – this is the place for you! They’ve got all kinds of mimosas (even a build-your-own!) and options for even the pickiest eater. Their pastries are also delicious if you need something to-go.
My Pick: Sweet Potato Hash or Return of the Mac
Their french toast is delicious for a sweet tooth (and they’ve got plenty to choose from!) but my favorites are the Return of the Mac and the Sweet Potato Hash. The Return of the Mac is an egg white scramble served with yogurt and fresh fruit. The Sweet Potato Hash is a bowl of roasted sweet potato and spinach with two fried eggs.
Nook
My recommendation: The Godfather Benedict or Breakfast fries
Can you tell I love eggs benedict yet? This is another one that I recommend in Tucson, especially if you like proscuitto!
Hi-Fi
Best for: Bottomless Mimosas
The best part about this place is the bottomless mimosas. It’s not the best food in Tucson, but it will definitely be needed after a few hours with their mimosas.
My recommendation: Hi-Fi Fries
If you’re eating here for breakfast, I love the Hi-Fi Fries. There’s eggs on top as well as plenty of toppings like meat and pico de gallo for a good mid-day drunchie.
Culinary Dropout
Best for: A fun breakfast in a neat location
The actual building is the coolest part of eating here for breakfast. They have a bar, games, and seating for big groups. Last time I went, I got the fried chicken, which is definitely some of the best I’ve had.

Bisbee Breakfast Club
Best for: Carbo-loading
After a fun night out, this place is my go-to. The generous breakfasts are perfect for loading up on carbs and their coffee is delicious.
My recommendation: The wingdinger
The wingdinger is a bed of hashbrowns with two eggs, gravy and sides of toast or a biscuit. I like to ask for my eggs fried and usually order the biscuit on the side. I love adding my biscuit to the gravy too.
Tallboys
Best for: Breakfast all day
Tallboys serves breakfast all day, so it’s the perfect place to grab eggs when you’re craving them in the afternoon. Their drinks are also delicious, so don’t forget to check out the drink menu! If you’re got a free Sunday and want to sleep in and eat a late breakfast, this place has all the right vibes.
My recommendation: Breakfast tots
The breakfast tots are my favorite item here. They have a chipotle sauce, green onions, avocado, eggs, pico de gallo, pickled onions and more. It’s such a unique dish that you really can’t find anywhere else!
