Christmas Decor

Happy 5th Day of Blogmas! Missed days one, twothree, and four? Catch up by clicking the links!

Today, us bloggers will be talking about Christmas Decor and as I am currently in an apartment with Halloween decor still up, I unfortunately will not be showing photos of my own apartment. I would show photos of my house, but since we’re in the middle of moving and looking at moving right around Christmas, that won’t be showcased either. Boxes just don’t make good Christmas decor unless they’re wrapped like presents. Hope you don’t mind!

Growing up as a kid, my favorite thing about the Holidays was all of the lights on the houses, especially the ones that flashed and sparkled along with the Christmas music. The photo above is the decoration my neighbors putting up every year. We called him “accident man” and he was my favorite decoration. While accident man was humorous, my Christmas decor style has since matured. I prefer frosted candle jars and themed Christmas trees to the sporadic, kitchen sink type of Christmas trees in the past. I’m an icicle lights instead of the colored bulbs girl now.

While I don’t have many decorations except for little silver bells hanging on my door currently, the items I linked below are what I would hang up if I had the time and the money. As you can see, many of the items are gold and somewhat rustic, coming together in a themed sort of Christmas decor round-up. My personal favorites are the fur tree skirt and the fun advent calendar.

At my house, all of our stockings were hand-knit by my grandma and I wouldn’t want it any other way. Hopefully one day I too can knit stockings for my kids and grandchildren. Every year, we also hung up a Christmas Angel. We were never the family that did the star, but I always stood on a ladder to put the Angel on every year. Our angel has lasted us through many moves and has fallen so many times, we had to glue her wing back on. Sometimes we put her on the mantle with the stockings when she can’t stay on the tree any longer. We have an alternative angel for those years.

I hope you enjoy my sparse photos and the Christmas decor I picked! Hope your decorating is going a little better than mine!
