Black pants and a white button down are the office chic staples. If you don’t own a nice, good-fitting pair of black slacks and a white button down, do you even work in the corporate world?
I bought this pair of pants when I entered the business school for the first time and I think it was the best purchase I ever made. I wear these probably once a week. I finally replaced my old button-down with this new one from Macy’s. It fits me ten times better and it looks a little more professional than my old one ever did.
But I guess somewhere along the line, I got really tired of the exact same outfit every single day. That being said, black slacks and a white blouse is classic and it’s classic for a reason. It looks good and polished.
Sometimes, you need to add just a bit of color to the classic business outfit. So, I tried to make this outfit a little more “me” by adding the bright red bandana from Madewell (and I’m in love with bandanas and silk scarves right now) and these Chanel-look-a-like slingback pumps by Ivanka Trump.
I’m not getting into politics right now, so I’m just going to say that Ivanka Trump has got some really nice designs that don’t break the bank. When I fell in love with the Chanel slingbacks but nearly had a heart attack at the price, I found these beautiful shoes and owned them merely minutes later.
The bag is a classic Longchamp Le Pliage that I bought while traveling in London this summer. Although Brexit was probably a bad move for the economy, it was a good move for my wallet. The GBP was lower than it’s been as far back as I can remember and this bag was significantly less expensive that it was in the US. I wore it to work every day this summer and use it as a bag in class quite often as well. It’s perfect for weekend trips and the work day alike.
Do you have any staples in your work wardrobe?

I have an audition wardrobe which always varies since I try to dress like a character I am portraying. I love the classic black and white look.
That’s so awesome! I’m sure it helps with your auditions!
Omg this is seriously this is the most adorable work-chic outfit!!! My office is very casual so jeans are a staple for me. Oh, and a cardigan because it’s always freezing!!! haha

Offices are always so cold, I swear! But thank you! We just moved to smart casual but most of the clients are still business casual so I get a mix of both 🙂
This is a great look! Black slacks and a white button down are both such classics!

I know! I wore the look out with my internship this summer!
You are so right. This is definitely a classic for the workplace. I live how you dressed it up with a cute bandana!
Thank you! I love adding just a pop of color!
I have been trying to increase my work wardrobe after I snagged my accounting job (holla!), but it’s so tricky! My favourite piece is my lace top. My workplace is more business casual, so I always layer it and it works perfectly!
