I’ve talked about my city several times. I love Tucson and I’m going to be bummed to leave it in just a few months. However, I’m not leaving Arizona – don’t you worry. It’s not that easy to get rid of me. In the last few years, pretty much since I turned 21, I’ve developed a greater love for Tucson. It’s probably because I can enjoy all the cool bars and breweries now.
Every weekend it seems like I’m finding a new event to attend. I do my best to keep my schedule as full as possible. A lot of my friends always ask me how I find these events so I thought I’d just share a few of my tips for finding these events in your own city!
Geotags
Instagram ain’t just for pretty pictures. Use those geotags and find new places! I’ve found so many pretty places on Instagram and have started saving them to a folder so I remember them later. Talk about a handy feature!
If your friend or someone on your explore page shares a photo that interests you, especially one in your area, save it for later!
Facebook Pages and Events
Sometimes, I look through the Facebook events in my area to find out what’s going on. Since I like a lot of my favorite breweries’ pages on Facebook, I always get notifications in my feed if they’re hosting an event. If there are a few places you love to frequent, make sure to follow their pages so you get updates too!
I wouldn’t usually recommend this, but you’re about to go in a Facebook hole. Start on one of your favorite Facebook pages and find an event that interests you. Once you find one event, check out the recommended events below! If you see an event that you love, but can’t attend, check out the other events the host has coming up too!
Check out a new area on Google Maps
Go to dinner in a new area and see what’s nearby. You can search for restaurants and more in really specific areas and see what else is nearby! Whenever I’m in a new place, I search my area for restaurants and coffee shops with good ratings. Sometimes, I even look for new areas in Tucson as well!
Look for local bloggers
Tucson doesn’t have a ton of bloggers, but most of us are experts in our area! Check out your local bloggers to find the people that know where the most Instagrammable spots are. Even food blogs have lots of inspiration for new places to try!
So tell me: where do you live and where will you be exploring next?
