Maybe I’m strange but one of my favorite holidays is Halloween. Actually, I think I like all holidays. I love Thanksgiving and Christmas and St. Patrick’s day… seriously, what’s not to love?
But that’s not the point. I really love Halloween. I love thinking of DIY costumes and creative puns I can turn into outfits for a night. I love Halloween parties, I love the candy, and I love seeing all the creative things that people come up with. I’ve loved the thought of just putting on a different dress and becoming a different person for the night. I’ve been different Disney princesses, Waldo, a pinup girl, a fire bender… I tried the sexy costume once and that just wasn’t for me. It felt too fake.
This outfit isn’t necessarily a costume, but the instant I put it on, I felt like Sarah Jessica Parker’s character in Hocus Pocus. I added the hat to get that fall (and bewitching) vibe and the rest of the outfit practically pulled itself together.
This beautiful maxi dress (that’s actually a romper by the way) is from Maude, my new favorite online retailer. I pinned an image in the widget below, but you can get the dress for ten dollars cheaper on Maude’s site.
My booties are a #poshfind, but I’ve linked similar ones below. The hat was a $5 steal from Urban Outfitters (amazing, right?) and the bralette and necklace came from Urban as well. We have one on campus so I can’t not stop in on my way home from work. Their sales racks save lives. The bracelets are from Sashka Co. and you may remember similar looking ones from my look in this post. If you don’t know what Sashka Co. is, they hire women in Nigeria to make these lovely bracelets, so your money is going to a good cause. If you’d like a discount, my coupon code is KIRSTEN and it will give you 35% off all bracelets!
Anyway, I hope you like what I’ve come up with here. All of my photos are courtesy of the lovely Courtney Talak and if you like my photos, you should see what else she can do! She’s amazing.

Loving this look! That color is amazing on you!
That’s so nice that it’s a romper and not a dress! Otherwise I’d fee a tad uncomfortable with the inner lining being so short. I love Halloween because I like becoming someone else for a day!

Love this dress and the colour!
After living in the U.S. during college, Halloween is one of my favourite holidays too! I had a lot of fun taking part in the festivities when I was there. We don’t celebrate it as extravagantly in Australia but it’s becoming more popular here, I think a lot of people get a kick out of dressing up.
