I don’t know about you, but drinking water has never been my strong suit. I know, I know, it keeps you alive, it’s good for you… trust me, I get it. I just find that I, sort of, forget about it. And, living in a place like Phoenix with its hottest summer on record, staying hydrated is super important. So, coming from someone who struggles to stay hydrated, here are my top tips for sneaking more water into your daily routine.

Try Infused Water

I am a sucker for flavored waters. One of the easiest ways I’ve been able to “trick” myself into drinking more water is replacing more of my water with infused waters. Generally, I’ve infused water the old fashioned way, by putting fruit in a large container and just letting it sit in my fridge. But I’ve recently discovered a product that is perfect for single serve infused waters, especially on the go.

Bigelow Botanicals Cold Water Infusions are a caffeine-free water replacement to be used in cold water. The flavors include: Watermelon Cucumber Mint, Cranberry Lime Honeysuckle, Blackberry Raspberry Hibiscus, Blueberry Citrus Basil, and Strawberry Lemon Orange Blossom. With zero calories and no artificial anything, it’s the perfect way to fall in love with your water.

They’re packaged just like your other favorite Bigelow tea, so you can keep little packs with you anywhere, fitting perfectly into your on-the-go healthy and active lifestyle. There’s no need to cut up fruit and empty out a container once it’s past its “good by” date, this just simplifies all of it.

On the go instructions:

  • One tea bag per 12oz of cold water
  • Infuse 8 minutes or longer for more flavor
  • Shake occasionally

Drink one glass with every meal

When you look at how much water you should drink in a day, the number can be intimidating. But when you break it down into one glass at a time, it’s not that bad.

The general guideline is: whatever you weigh in pounds, divide that in half and have that many ounces of water a day. For me, that’s 80 ounces. When you break that down into 8 ounce glasses, that’s ten cups per day. If you use 12 ounce glasses, that’s only a little less than seven glasses.

If you have at least once glass before and after every meal, that’s six glasses you don’t have to think about.

Featured above are my go-to cold water infusion glasses I like to keep in my refrigerator to grab anytime and in different flavors!

Bring Water with You Everywhere

Whenever I go anywhere, I always have a bottle of water, sometimes two, in my bag. If you still want infused water, slip a little package of Bigelow Cold Water Infusion into your bag too!

As simple as it sounds, having water on you makes you more likely to actually drink water.

Keep an easily accessible glass of water in your fridge at all times

Actually, keep easily accessible water everywhere. I keep it in my fridge, because when I get home, I always want to chug a cold beverage. I used to reach for a beer, but since keeping water in my fridge, water became a much easier choice.

I also keep a bottle on my nightstand, so I can have water by me right when I wake up. Which brings me to my next point…

Drink a large glass of water right when you wake up

It’s not only good for you, but it will kickstart your metabolism for the day as well.

So what do you think? What tips do you think you’ll try? What are some of your favorite tips that I missed?
