The Sunday of Summer

September is like the Sunday of summer. Anyone else agree?

Is there anyone out there that agrees that a perfect “back-to-school” shopping cart includes a bottle of wine? Or 6? *Raises hand* It’s no secret that I love wine. In fact, I make it quite apparent. Sometimes, when I need to “wine down,” there’s just nothing better than sipping wine outside and enjoying the fresh air. Or sipping wine and watching Netflix. Either or.

I’ll be honest, I’ve been a bit MIA lately. That’s because it’s back-to-wine… err… school time! Did y’all know I finally started grad school? I know, I’ve been talking about it for a while, but it finally started. I’ll be honest, I jumped into it and started going full speed really fast. I’m taking five accounting classes (hold the eyebrow raises for me, I actually enjoy it) and boy, grad school is a lot of work. If any of my professors are reading this, don’t worry, I’m working hard and I can totally handle this.

I’m actually enjoying grad school a lot more than undergrad. People actually volunteer when the professor asks a question – it’s truly revolutionary. Discussions become a lot more fun because people actually engage with each other and debates become more lively.

Anyway, with the end of summer approaching, I’ve been trying to keep enjoying my slow summer nights while I prepare for the blogger’s favorite season: fall.

Some of my favorite things about fall:

  1. The Caramel Apple Spice at Starbucks. Delicious.
  2. Wearing hoodies without a bra.
  3. Absolutely perfect weather in Arizona
  4. Cute sweaters with leggings and booties. The signature blogger look of the season.

Especially as the nights begin to cool off, there’s nothing I love better than enjoying a wine-filled evening with my boyfriend as we relax after long days at work and school. One of my absolute favorite wines is Butter Chardonnay and (fun fact) it was actually one of the very first wines I ever introduced my boyfriend to. He actually wasn’t much of a wine drinker before he met me!

JaM Cellars

JaM Cellars makes three easy-to-love, everyday California wines: Butter Chardonnay, JaM Cabernet and Toast Sparkling. John and Michele are the “J” and the “M” in JaM Cellars and are the geniuses behind the brand. They made these wines in a style they love to enjoy anytime—whether that’s a special occasion, everyday celebration, or just a day of the week with a “y” in it! That’s my kinda wine if ya’ know what I’m saying.

And the best news? Under $20 and in a store right near you.

Butter Chardonnay

By far, Butter Chardonnay is my favorite chardonnay. It was one of the first wines my parents shared with me too and it’s a family favorite whenever I go back to visit. There’s always a glass for everyone! After all, everything’s better with butter! The taste just is creamy-licious and just melts in your mouth.

Awards: Gold medal, SF Chronicle Wine Competition Jan. 2017 and named “Impact Hot Brand” for 2016

JaM Cabernet

My very first car had a license plate frame that said “Life is a Cabernet” and I’d like to think I’ve lived by that motto pretty well. As the summer nights begin to cool down, JaM Cabernet is the perfect pairing for any dinner. It’s berry-licious and luscious, perfect for date nights, family dinners, movie nights, and everything in between! This Cab is my JaM!

Awards: Gold medal, Texsom Int’l Wine Awards, March 2017; Featured on the Today Show, “Wines under $20 to go with your Easter feast”
