Who else is excited for the 4th of July? If you guys have been keeping up with me on Instagram and Twitter, then you know I’ve been buckling down and studying for my CPA exams. I take my first (of four) exams on the 3rd, so I’m really excited to take a day off afterwards to celebrate and relax before jumping into studying for the next one. In the meantime, breaks studying (literally my only breaks) have come in the form of photoshoots. Even though I need blog content, it’s mostly to get out of the apartment. Give me a break; I need some sunshine.

So, to get up this post up in time, I took a few much needed breaks and got a little patriotic. These sandals from SAS shoes gave me all the inspiration I needed.

If you don’t know about SAS Shoes, they’re a shoe company that specializes in high-quality, comfortable shoes. They started small, with just 13 shoemakers, and eventually grew into a  major brand. Now, they offer a large range of shoe options, from sneakers to pumps to sandals for both men and women.

When I saw these royal blue beauties (called the Simone) online, I knew they were perfect for summer. Although I don’t think I’d normally pair them with red, it was the perfect combo for the upcoming holiday. Generally, I’d opt for a simple black and white look with a pop of color, or maybe a monotone look, but you’ll see those looks sometime in the future. I know you will, because these shoes will definitely be making more appearances in my summer wardrobe. If you’re not much of a blue person, or if you’re looking for something a little more versatile, they also offer the Simone Sandal in several other colors. However, the blue color is stunning. I own so many neutral colored shoes, the blue made the perfect addition. It’s a deep royal-blue shade, although it can appear slightly lighter in different lighting. The material is impeccable; I could feel how high-quality they were right out of the box.

They might be great summer shoes, but for the 4th of July, they are absolute perfection. They’re so comfortable, you could pretty much do anything in them, which is a must-have in any summer shoe. You could stand around in them, walk around in them, or just sit there looking pretty in them. They’ve got a tiny wedge heel in the back for a bit of extra height (and making those legs look fabulous), and their minimalistic design ensures that they’re great for any occassion. Seriously, these shoes would look just as great with jeans and a tee as they would paired with a dress for date night. Here, I’ll show you with a few of my favorite patriotic outfit ideas.

For Fireworks and Date Night:

If you’ve got a hot date for the 4th, you know, aside from Uncle Sam, it’s as easy as pairing these shoes with a simple red dress. Whether you’re spending the day at a 4th of July celebration or cuddling up to watch the fireworks together, you can dress to impress with this look. If it gets cold at night where you are, throw on a denim jacket (or a white jacket for added patriotism) to beat the nighttime chill.

For the Backyard BBQ:

Spending the holiday with family? No problem. Even though it may be a little too warm to rock this in Arizona, this would 100% be my outfit if I was spending the holiday back home in LA. It can get chilly at night, or even in the shade if there is a breeze, so I’d want to stay comfortable.

For this look, instead of pairing the usual flip flops or sneaks with jeans, I opted for these sandals. They look nicer and balance the relaxed boyfriend look of the jeans with a more polished shoe.

For a Subtle Daytime Look:

Not much of one for a bold red, white, and blue outfit? I’ve got you covered too. The blue sandals pair perfectly with a simple little white romper (or a little white dress) and red statement earrings. The end result is perfect for a hot summer day and perfect for any celebration, yet subtle enough to wear in a more understated environment.
