It’s official – I’ve got a love affair with Réalisation Par. I don’t know what it is about these dresses that make me want to throw on a pair of barely-there heels and sip on a glass of white wine in a Parisian cafe. Ok, maybe I always want to do that, but I rest my case.
The midi-length dresses feel slightly more modest while still exuding a certain level of sexiness that skyrockets my confidence to the moon. Confidence? Ya’ can’t put a price on that.
My main qualm I really have with Réalisation Par is their lack of body diversity. Every model they have is uber thin. They’re what my mother calls a “clothes hanger” as in, everything looks good on the hanger. So how is an average-sized woman supposed to gauge her size in a brand like this? Well, that’s where I come in.
The 1996:
The 1996 is Réalisation Par’s most expensive dress. Now, I see why. The silk of this dress is different. It feels more silky and satin-y and is covered in gorgeous embroidery.
The dress is definitely one of the fanciest of the bunch; it feels very appropriate for semi-formal dinners, weddings, or other events that require you to be a bit more dressed-up. While I believe that I could wear this out and about, it does feel a bit too fancy for that. Maybe if I layered it over a tee shirt, it would feel more casual. I can also see myself throwing a loose button down over the top and tying it in the front. We’ll see.
The website describes the dress as having a low v-neck and low back, which I was hesitant about as I really can’t wear my dresses without a bra. However, the straps on the dress are adjustable. If adjusted correctly, the dress fits like the perfect slip dress and can completely cover a strapless bra. I call that a win.
Dress quality:
This dress, of all the items I own from Réalisation Par, is the highest quality. I’m not sure if it’s the different silk or the embroidery just makes it feel not as delicate. I guess a dress made for dancing needs to be able to hold up to late nights.
My measurements:
In the name of transparency, this is my size.
In general, I am a US size 6. For the most part, this always holds true. When it comes to dresses, I occasionally size up to an 8 to accommodate my size 34DD chest.
I wear a size 28 in most denim brands including Lucky Brand, Paige, and Levi’s. In jeans without as much stretch (100% cotton), I generally size up to a 29.
In inches, my measurements are 40-29-39.
That’s as in-depth as I think I can go.
Dress sizing:
In this dress, I ordered a size large, which is the same size I went with for the Teale and the Amelia. I’m glad I sized up instead of going with the medium. I read that a few dresses from Réalisation Par run large, which I did not find to be the case with any of my dresses. My ultimate conclusion is to stick with your usual size unless you have a larger chest; if so, you should definitely size up in any of their styles.
This style fits a bit looser than the other two dresses, in my opinion. I probably could’ve gone with a medium, but I prefer slip dresses to fit a bit looser.
As a disclaimer, I would hardly say Réalisation Par is size inclusive. I seem to consistently be a size large (I’ve tried 4 different styles now) and I don’t consider myself to be a large person. I’m about 5’7″ (maybe 5’5″, it depends on the day and the doctor apparently) and, as I mentioned, I’m fairly consistently a size 6-8. Honestly, there is no reason I should be considered large.
But, I still think these dresses make me feel amazing. I feel sexy when I wear them and they’re so easy to throw on and go.
The ordering Process:
The ordering process was really simple, just like any other online shop.
What I will say is the items online do sell out. If you see something you like in your size, it could sell out rather quickly (especially during a sale!) and restocks take a while. Another good thing to know is that refunds are not allowed during one of their sales; you can only exchange for a new size or site credit if your purchase your item during a sale.
Customer Service:
Given that this is my third dress from Réalisation Par, I pretty much determined I was probably a size large and did not have to contact customer service for this order. The item description mentioned that I should size up, so I did.
