Travel in Style This Summer

All year, I look forward to the summer season, when life slows down and I can plan a few trips. As of late, I feel like I haven’t done much traveling, with the exception of to home and back. Going home is always fun; my parents always plan fun activities like golfing, bike riding, and amazing food and drink. It’s also free.

Since I’m without a formal job this summer except for this blogging thing (that’s right – you can just call me a full-time blogger now), I’m a bit low on cash. So what does that mean? It means my ‘travel’ includes local Tucson spots and new places within a couple hours’ drive.

Coming up soon, I hope to share all my favorite spots in Tucson with you guys, but I’ve yet to get the opportunity to shoot them all. For now, I’ll just show you how I travel around in style.

For Roaming Around City Streets:

I don’t usually recommend traveling around in a white skirt, but if you’re going to do it, summer is the best time. Since I always wear white, I have a lot of practice keeping fabric clean, so it’s not as big of deal to me. For this particular look, I paired a bodysuit with a comfortable skirt, slides, and a crossbody.

Although shorts are usually my m.o., this prAna skirt was too cute to pass up! It’s the perfect, flattering length and doesn’t ride up when I walk, which is a must for an outfit that I’ll do a lot of walking in. (If you want 15% the prAna site, use the code TRCKS18) Although I could’ve paired it with a tee shirt or tank top, I opted for this bodysuit. Surprisingly, the bodysuit doesn’t get too hot, even in black, and the fabric is soft and light. Since it’s a bodysuit, it also stays in place all day. Of course, a girl can’t travel without a bag to carry her essentials, so I opted for this RFID bag from Vera Bradley; the fabric is specially made to keep all your card data safe! Talk about a travel essential!

So the perfect combo for a daytime travel outfit: a comfy bodysuit, comfortable shorts or a skirt of an appropriate length (I highly recommend prAna’s selection!), shoes you can walk a mile in, and your favorite travel bag.

For the ride:

Now, when I’m traveling, whether on a plane, train, or automobile, I like to stay comfortable and stylish. The key to doing that is loose clothes and a jacket, just in case your mode of transporation keeps its AC on high. I’m wearing this lightweight white denim jacket, which is perfect for throwing on inside or in the mornings or at night when it’s a bit cooler. It’s also durable, so it’s perfect for adding a bit of fashion into your travels.

I always carry a backpack when I travel and this one from Vera Bradley fits the bill. It even has a panel on the back to slide perfectly onto my rolling duffel – talk about handy! This rolling duffel is a travel hack in itself too; it folds up into a smaller size and has a separate zipped section on the bottom for things like shoes and dirty clothes. I can already tell this bag will get a ton of use on my weekend trips.
