Hi all – I hope you had the merriest of Christmases this year! Now, with that big holiday behind us, 2019 is quickly approaching. 2018 was a big year for the blog. I worked with big brands, worked on refining my own personal brand, and gained so much inspiration from my audience and my fellow bloggers. 2019 presents its own challenges, but that doesn’t mean that I’m not excited for what’s to come. Think of this post as your sneak preview for the year.
I recently started working with a photographer on a monthly basis, so I’m really excited for the evolution of my content. (For those of you looking for a photographer in the area, I am working with Isabella Lusk. You can check out her website here!) I’ve been trying to refine my editing style, which is an ongoing process, but I hope to refine it further so that my content is always getting better.
One of my big goals this year is to engage with my community more. I am excited for weekly style challenges I will be hosting, creating interactive Instagram stories, and putting together downloads that will help you all. I’m hoping that this engages you all more and challenges you to own your own personal style and refine your own personal brand.
As for content, I have decided to add ‘business tips’ to my niche categories. I will be sharing interview tips, office style, tips for networking and all the other information that has helped me so much through college and into my first job. I will be delving more into my life in the corporate world, as well as sharing more about how I merge my blogging career with my accounting career.
Two more categories I will be adding are fitness and mental health. I will be talking more about my battle with personal fitness and nutrition and how I am taking charge of my own health while working and blogging full time. This includes how I’ve changed my meal prep game in the last few months and how I’ve begun to bring myself back to the gym – just in time for those new years resolutions. If you’ve been following me for a while, you may have even heard me talk about my personal battle with mental health as well. One of my goals for 2019 was to go into therapy to deal with my issues that have made it harder to live my daily life. I plan on talking more about my struggle with social anxiety, my journey with therapy, and finally overcoming these issues that have held me back for years. 2019 is a lot about personal growth for me and I’m excited to share my journey with you.
In the past two years, I know I dealt with a lot of things by shopping to make myself feel better. I am pulling back on my shopping habits and will be sharing more with you about how to shop in your own closet, how to rewear pieces (without being called an outfit repeater), and more about shopping with intention. My closet will be getting a total rehaul and I will be sharing a lot of my closet clean-outs and more. Hopefully this will be a good opportunity to share more video content with you all!
Video content will hopefully be a bigger thing with my brand this year. I want to finally film the monthly “coffee chats” I’ve been brainstorming for months, sharing all the questions I get on a usual basis. I want to share outfit videos, haul videos, and skincare videos. It’s a lofty goal this year, but it’s one I really want to finally achieve.
The blogging series I’ve talked about will hopefully get published this year, with details about all my sponsorships networks, branding information, rebranding information, and more! All those questions you guys have asked me will hopefully get all detailed in this in-depth series, which will talk more about my initial blog, things I’ve learned over the years, rebrand, and more! I’ve really done it all in my years of blogging and I hope this makes your journey easier.
Last but not least, I want to share more OOTD’s with you. I want to share more of my daily life and less curated posts. Curated posts will definitely be a consistent part of my brand, but I’ve left out a lot of the small things I want you all to see.
Stay tuned y’all. 2019 is going to be great for us. What are your goals this year?
